Features and technology
All five versions of the 2025 Subaru Forester have the same powertrain to make things nice and simple for shoppers. The powertrain is Subaru’s familiar 2.5-litre direct-injection Boxer four-cylinder unit, which develops 180 horsepower and 178 lb.-ft. of torque. And in true Subaru style, AWD is part of the standard equipment for all versions of the Forester. The transmission that sends the power to the wheels is a Lineartronic CVT in all cases, but all models apart from the base model have an eight-speed manual model that can be controlled through the steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. The Subaru Forester is as happy in the town and city as it is on the highway or the forest trail.
