New 2025 Subaru Outback in Scarborough, ON
Ultimately versatile
If you need a new vehicle for everything daily life in Scarborough, East York, North York, Pickering, Ajax, and the Greater Toronto Area can throw at you, the 2025 Subaru Outback takes some beating. Although officially classified as a midsize crossover SUV, the Subaru Outback is an incredibly versatile SUV that defies convention and can take on almost any role. If you want flexibility, versatility, choice, and reliability, the Subaru Outback has a model that’s right for you.
Trim levels
Forget about rivals that offer limited choice; the 2025 Subaru Outback is available in seven trim levels to cater to a broad spectrum of shoppers, applications, and budgets. It's easy and something of a cliché to suggest a vehicle can be anything you want it to be. However, with seven different variants to choose from, the Subaru Outback can make a strong case for itself in any company. The lineup starts with the entry-level Convenience trim and then goes to the Touring, Onyx, Limited, Wilderness, Limited XT, and range-topping Premier XT. Some models have very distinct personalities and capabilities, so it isn’t simply a case of the outback getting more luxurious as you go through the trim levels.
Performance
The 2025 Subaru Outback is a versatile midsize crossover SUV with impressive handling and a comfortable ride. However, those are just the initial aspects of this versatile vehicle's performance. The basic 2.5-liter flat-four engine in all variants up to and including the Limited trim produces a healthy 182 horsepower and 176 lb.-ft of torque. The standard engine is replaced with a 2.4-liter turbo-four with 260 horsepower and 277 lb.-ft of torque starting with the Wilderness and above. As you would expect with Subaru, each Subaru Outback is equipped with Subaru Symmetrical AWD, regardless of which engine is under the hood. Additionally, every model uses a CVT transmission—which many commentators claim to be the best on the market—to distribute power to all four wheels. A high-torque version from the Wilderness replaces the standard version, and all models have an eight-speed manual mode. Also included as standard equipment across the range are Subaru's X-MODE, Vehicle Dynamics Control, and Active Torque Vectoring.
Features and technology
The interior of the 2025 Subaru Outback can be as straightforward or as well-equipped as you want or need it to be. There’s plenty of room in the back seats, and it’s hard to see anyone shopping in this segment complaining about a lack of cargo volume. Once you go beyond the Convenience trim, the 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment screen grows into an 11.6-inch tablet-style unit. While all models get SiriusXM and Apple CarPlay & Android Auto connectivity, that connectivity becomes wireless above the base model. And you only have to look to the Onyx trim level and above to get a standard 12-speaker Harmon Kardon premium audio system with subwoofer and amplifier. With so many trim levels available, most features you could want or need are available, such as ventilated seats, Nappa leather upholstery, a hands-free rear gate, navigation, a smart rearview mirror with HomeLink and compass, etc. Limited and Limited XT models get leather upholstery, so Nappa leather and ventilated front seats are reserved for the top-of-the-range model.
